1989 - 2009

Since 1989 The Gathering of Men in Southern California has been working to bring men together in the marketplace to hear the stories of men changed by the power of God.  A group of business leaders got together and decided that the best way to bring this opportunity to their business assocaites, friends, and neighbors was through breakfast events designed with the community leader in mind.  Our first full-time director was Bill Bird, who served The Gathering faithfully for the first 10 years of our SoCal history, 1989 to 1999.  Bill was followed by Paul Huddle, who has served as the GOMSC director since Bill's retirement from The Gathering in 1999.

Here are some of the interesting facts related to our 20 years in Southern California:

• Conducted 114 outreach breakfasts
• Over 30,000 have attended
• Partnered with over 235 churches in LA, Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside Counties
• Over 1,200 men have served as Table Host Partners with The Gathering
• Over 135 men have served on our Area Core Group Leadership Teams
• Over 500 men have come into a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ at one of our outreach breakfasts
• Over 4,000 men have renewed their commitments to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Conducted 5 "Becoming A Person Of High Impact Discipleship Seminars" equipping 154 leaders
• Conducted/Sponsored 2 "Organic Growth Workshops" equipping 110 Life Transformation Group church planters
